Juliana & Matayo

Land Stewards

“When we see we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.” Aldo Leopold

Steward

Nalongo Juliana

The matriarch of the our community. Juliana’s depths of empathy and care for others supports us all while her “not-suffering-fools-gladly” attitude keeps us anchored to the earth. A brave and bold person to turn to with any need. Life lived at the camp has transformed a fear of snakes into gentle handling to remove non-venomous species.

Nuwamanya Matayo

Matayo knows the land intimately well, attuned to the pulse of life with which he shares space with. Self taught photographer, nature guide, skilled craftsman, gardener and outdoor education. Allow him to show you the camp through his eyes and who knows what you will see!
